Welcome to the Advance Wars 2 IGN.com guide! The goal of this guide is to assist you in achieving perfect scores in every campaign and war room level. Whether youre a newbie, a returning advisor, or a six star general, this guide is meant to help you through the increased complexities and new challenges that await you in Advance Wars 2. There are new COs, new CO powers, new units, new campaign layout, and new mission specific obstacles to overcome.

The levels in Advance Wars 2 are longer and more open ended than the original Advance Wars levels. You will also be working with many different COs rather than the usual trio of Andy, Sami, and Max. There are many more maps where you start out with only unit production properties, like a war room map.

Each guide to a campaign level is separated into two parts: the general info and the briefing. In the general info section, there is the level name, official difficulty, perfect score difficulty, time limit, technique limit, and power requirement. In the briefing, we will give you a rundown and analysis of the level, usually with some key hints or details on getting a perfect score. So have at it… the battlefield awaits.

Cheat: Japanese Map
Go to Design Mode and click on Map. Then hold the L and R buttons while its loading. Once you get there, you should see a map with three Japanese letters on it made out of mountains.

Unlockable: COs
Unlock the following COs by doing the prerequisites: Unlock Drake – clear the Green Earth Campaign Unlock Eagle – clear the Green Earth Campaign Unlock Olaf – clear the Blue Moon Campaign Unlock Grit – clear the Blue Moon Campaign Unlock Hachi – clear any campaign on Hard Mode Unlock Hawke – clear any Campaign Mode Unlock Kanbei – clear the Yellow Comet Campaign Unlock Sonja – clear the Yellow Comet Campaign Unlcok Adder – clear any Campaign Mode Unlock Jess – recruit Drake or Eagle and Jess will be available Unlock Lash – clear any Campaign Mode Unlock Colin – recruit Grit or Olaf and Colin will be available Unlock Sensei – recruit Kanbei or Sonja and Sensei will be available Unlock Nell – achieve an overall A rank in Campaign mode Unlock Sturm – achieve an overall A rank in Campaign mode

Unlockable: The Neotanks
Capture a specific city on each map to earn a lab map. You must then clear a hidden mission to earn unlock the Neotanks. Each force needs to do this to access Neotank technology.

Orange Star – On the mission Flak Attack, capture the city just north of your HQ.

Blue Moon – On the mission Toy Box, capture the southmost, westernmost city. It is the city on the island.

Yellow Comet – On the mission Show Stopper, capture the southmost, westernmost city.

Green Earth – On the mission Sinking Feeling, capture the southernmost city on the island towards the west.

Unlockable: Sound Test
Beat Campaign mode with overall rank of A.

Unlockable: Hard Mode
Beat the game on easy and go to Hachis store and buy Hard Mode for 1000 points. Press Select when starting a new campaign to play hard mode.

Unlockable: Gallery
Beat the hard campaign to unlock the gallery.
